Our goal – no workplace injuries – at all

We firmly believe that all accidents can be prevented, and our goal is no workplace injuries. We focus on preventing personal injuries and major accidents, and the goal of no workplace injuries has become part of how we think and work, focusing on continuous improvement.

The safety of our staff is paramount. Implementing ways to ensure our staff are safe at all times also enables SMC to continue its high level of service delivery to our customers.

Code of Ethics

SMC’s Code of Ethics defines who we are and how we work. Performance is the first Commitment. Our customers have choices, and our performance determines whether they choose us.

At the root of SMC’s Performance Commitment are the fundamental principles that legal requirements must be satisfied, that financial statements must be complete and accurate, and that customers and other stakeholders must be treated fairly. Simply put, performance cannot be achieved without meeting these requirements.

The SMC Code of Ethics does not merely require compliance with laws. It embodies a commitment to positive behaviours that build trust, promote respect, and demonstrate integrity. We honour our commitments, communicate openly, and hold ourselves accountable.
